Minister Required

The Olive Tree Church is seeking a minister. We are a new church (in process of combining existing Baptist and Methodist churches). The Olive Tree is one of two churches located in a very large residential area that includes relatively affluent ‘suburban’ housing, and areas of significant deprivation.

Our new minister will take a leading role in

worship, teaching and pastoral care;

shaping the life of the church, especially in its early formative years.

mission and service in the (largely Asian and Muslim) neighbourhood: shaping and overseeing the creation of a community hub, and the setting up of mission projects, currently at planning stage.

We are looking for someone who

is community minded;

has a heart for mission within a culturally, ethnically and religiously diverse area;

will be comfortable working within the new ‘united churchset up;

will be committed to lead the church towards spiritual and numerical growth.

This is a challenging and exciting position for someone with vision and strong leadership skills.

It is anticipated that the post will be full time (although we are willing to consider creative alternatives). The salary will be based on Baptist Union guidelines. Housing (or monetary equivalent) will be provided.
